Welcome to the Warren Zevon Other Page - Maintained by professor_kechi since 1998.

The full shot for the cover of The Wind.  Nice pants.

Warren Zevon passed away Sunday, September 7, 2003, at the age of 56. He died in his sleep, just as he wanted, at home. I will be updating later this evening. My humble final words are located here, if you were directed to this page instead of my index page. My condolences to everyone who loved him and his music.

Please note I am receiving over 20,000 visitors a day. Some people have had a very hard time reaching the site. I apologize, but until my server allows me more bandwidth, I appreciate your patience. I also thank you all for your kindness and warm words.

THE WIND DEBUTED AT #16 ON THE BILLBOARD ALBUM CHART WITH OVER 47,000 COPIES SOLD IN ITS FIRST WEEK.  The album is set for release outside of the US and Canada this week.  This is Warren's highest chart placement since Excitable Boy reached #8 in 1978.  Warren is also #1 in independent album sales this week.  Artemis Records is rush-releasing the second single, "Disorder in the House."

The Recent

Warren became a first-time grandfather on June 12, 2003, of twin boys, Augustus Warren and Maximus Patrick.  Mom is his daughter Ariel, dad is Ben Powell, her husband.  Warren was at the hospital for the delivery.

Well, you know all about The Wind by now.  And if you don't, Rolling Stone and CNN both have articles posted.

A little sappy, but not bad: New article from MSN.

Rolling Stone finally posted their entire Zevon archive.  Beware the pop up ads.  Hit the Artists link at the top and search for Zevon.

The Still-Worth-Reading

The Wahoo Gazette, 10/30/02

Always check out warrenzevon.com in case they actually update the page.  But if you haven't explored the entire thing, you'd better do it; there's some surprises.

Warren Zevon: The First Sessions was released 3/24/03, featuring early lyme and cybelle recordings and the killer track "(You Used to) Ride So High", by Warren and Bones Howe (billed as Motorcycle Abilene).

The New York Times exhibited good taste and did an article on Warren in January.  Go read.

The News Archive, which I am no longer updating.  If you're looking for an old article, check in there first.

If I receive correspondence from Mr Zevon himself, it will not be shared without his explicit permission.  So don't ask.  Trust me on this one.  You have no idea how crabby I can be.
